Do Not Overlook Online Teaching Job Openings

[picappgallerysingle id="210556"]The current economic situation is creating a need for some seriously creative thinking and action when it comes to finding decent employment opportunities. Given this need for creativity, it would be an excellent idea for those with earned graduate degrees to not over look online teaching job opportunities as a way to create multiple income streams while increasing personal mobility and professional skill sets. There can no longer be any doubt that new and returning college students actually desire to attend online college courses from their personal computers at home as they earn an online psychology degree, an online finance degree or an online masters degree in school counseling. These students, however, must have an online adjunct instructor to teach them as they take the online classes.

Online adjuncts enjoy the same freedom provided by technology that college students in online college degree programs enjoy every day of the class session. Online college instructors go to class to teach their students by entering the online college through the digital interface chosen by the colleges and universities.  Since each post-secondary institution can choose the software it wants to use to provide the digital college campus for their students, it is wise for the prospective online college teacher to become proficient at navigating several different digital interfaces. In fact, since every aspect of teaching online happens on the Internet, including the search for online adjunct jobs, the submission of academic credentials for the online teaching positions, the mandatory training that must be completed successfully before being placed before students earning online university degrees and all teaching and administrative classroom duties, a finely=honed set of technical skills must be present and actively employed the online instructor. Yes, the intellectual and educational skills are a large part of the postsecondary teaching process, but proficiency with a computer is also required to earn a decent income.

If the academic merit badges, so to speak, are in evidence and the proficiency with computer technology is present, then it is possible for an online adjunct to teach for multiple online college degree programs. More to the point, it is possible for an online college teacher to manage six to ten online college courses between the online university programs. This is how multiple income streams are generated from online adjunct faculty positions. Each class will pay a flat fee for the length of the course. Some courses are longer than other, but in the main the trend is towards an eleven week quarter. An eleven week quarter can pay around two thousand dollars to the online adjunct instructor. There will be four quarters a year instead of the two traditional sixteen week semesters. Just one quarterly online college classes would pay the online adjunct eight thousand dollars over a year. Two quarterly courses over a year would generate sixteen thousand dollars.

Now imagine teaching six quarterly online classes all at the same time over a calendar year. Suddenly, it is possible to envision how online teaching jobs openings are well worth the time and effort to land.
